Happy Isles

Happy Isles

By Amba Gale

Your beloved Merced embraces you
in its arms,
singing
its happiness.

Just your name
brings back to hear
and thought
the delightful pleasure
of hearing your voice
laughing for the very first time

Just as your river flows
and dances,
gurgles, and prances,
around, above and under
Great Boulders that give you your voice,
like white horse mains
leaping, flying, cavorting
over the hills,

Just like that-
Like the bubbles and whirlpools,
white water falls and rushing speeding non-stop racing
my heart, too, races
my ears open to your sounds of singing
and all my senses awaken to your Voice.

Just being in your presence gives me joy.

I was very young when
I was brought to you
for the very first time.
My father and my mother
delighted in your laughter,
mingling with my own.

Today, your youth still
touches mine,
and younger I grow
just thinking of you.

Happy, happy isles
Singing in the sun.

Surrender

Let go and love the way the world turns. Be with it. Allow it. Notice it. Even, embrace it. When you rail against it, you become part of the same energy that stopped the flow at the beginning. Be the holder of it. Know that it, too, has a destination to, finally, merge as one with all. Listen deeply to your heart inside and those things you know are anciently true. Trust in your essential wisdom to lead the way. The world is in flux. You will find your way. “All things must pass.” Let them go. May I be…

Presence

Dancing in the water, the bright orange sun winks at me through the branches of the pine. The ceiling falling is nothing, being present to such beauty.
